My Gfs first time making Albondigas

My Gfs first time making is Albondigas. She didn’t like the rice in the meat balls but I did. She added jalapenos for a lil spice but said she should have made chili de arbol and added some to the broth. I agree. And think it would be good added to the balls as well. But it was very delicious just as it was. I rated it 8/10 and she got mad. But I thought that was a fair rating. Should I just keep my mouth shut next time?

  1. Looks great! You need the rice as a binder, but maybe add less next time, doesnt take a lot. Some oregano in the meatballs give it good flavor. Also, did you do a mix of pork and beef?

For the spicy flavour you need to add chipotles.

I love adding rice to the soup while I’m eating it. So good

Ya esta lista para casarse la chica

  6. Wow, that looks more like mole de olla!! I make them so much simpler.

The broth is just tomato-based(with Knor/Maggi chicken-tomato cube) with optional chipotle(in case you have kids). The meatballs are stuffed with a piece of hard boiled egg in the middle. You can add white rice to the broth when you serve it, and a spoonful of black beana. Devour with a *bolillo* on the side, … y chopee al gusto

I’ve never known which region cooks meatballs like that. This is how my grandma made them, she’s from the Gulf area(east coast) but she also lived in Puebla close to the central area of Mexico city. And my wife’s grandma who was raised in the central area also cooks them like that.

Everything looks good, I’ve never seen corn with albondigas though seems like a good idea 👍
