fired bc a car blew up

bruh tell me why i got fired last night bc a car blew up in our parking lot😂😂 a random customer i had never seen before came inside & said his car was smoking, which it was. the shit burst in flames (the pic is literally just the beginning) & the dude driving came in the lobby to chill while we waited for the fire department & police department. there were 10+ fire trucks, 9 police cars (not including SUVS & trucks) & a tow truck all parked in our parking lot & all the surrounding businesses parking lots. they told us we had to close bc a car was literally blowing up in the lot. tell me why i got fired bc the police & fire department made us shut down. try to make it make sense😂 the GM was pissed bc she had to get her dumbass out of bed bc a fucking car blew up lmao

You got fired because your general manager is an incompetent douche. Sorry, friend — there are shit managers/bosses alllllll over the place.

  2. ForeverWavy

Might be worth speaking to an employment lawyer about this, especially if she stated this was the reason for your termination.

  3. YeOldeBilk

Are all GM’s just total fucking assholes? I’ve never met or heard of a nice one

  4. rubberduckybro

TIL That’s why they only give you 4 fire sauces.

  5. logancollins1

That’s definitely unfair, but take the firing as an opportunity to find a new place with a better manager. Sounds like your boss was an asshole anyways

  6. StratosphereXP

Clearly you gave him too much fire sauce

  7. HeavensToBetsyy

Get you that sweet unemployment money

  8. Call your state’s labor board to file a complaint. Pretty sure that by law, you can’t be fired because of that. Also, you can file a civil lawsuit for wrongful termination. Might be able to get some money out of it.

The average human asshole after consuming Taco Bell

  10. CommitteeUpbeat3893

Yeah those doesn’t make any sense and I feel like there’s context missing here.

Your GM must be so stupid that they thought you gave them too much fire sauce resulting in this so they fired you. 😆

You were wrongfully terminated. File a complaint with the EEOC. Here is a link to the site.

I live in Louisiana, a “Right to Work” state and I can state for a fact that yes, you can sue for wrongful termination. It won’t cost you a dime.

Get as much documentation as you can. If you can get the police reports, as well as notes or statements from officers and the firefighters. You can take this to your state employment bureau and fight for your lost wages. Instead of getting unemployment wages, have the state go after them and get your full wages due to the wrongful termination. It depends on how the state laws are setup, but if it goes your way, they can make your former employer pay your full wages while you sit at home.

I’m a Taco Bell AGM. If the store ever closes, we lose our bonus. That’s why she fired you. Its a selfish reason and If I was you I would talk to the district manager. Send her the pics and explain the reasoning. Did you call the GM when everything was going on to inform her?

  15. BertisFat10

Bro that’s some fucking bullshit. Luckily in the long-run. This will be a good thing for you. Get a job at a restaurant or something. Can make really good money depending on where you go. Good luck. Fuck that manager.

  19. Chemical-Peach7084

What did you exactly get terminated for what did the GM say to you specifically

  21. Blargncheese

Looks like you weren’t the only one that was FIRED 😎

  22. dolcewheyheyhey

File for unemployment regardless of what any one tells you. Explain the situation and you should get it.

I had a car blow up in our drive thru once🫣 apparently the dude was running a meth lab of some sorts outta his car?? I got to work the next day & everyone was like “why didn’t you call the cops!!!” Cause before I left the night before he was sitting in the drive thru asleep in his car while it was running lmao I was just like I’m outta here✌🏼I didn’t get paid enough to deal with that🤷🏼‍♀️

  24. That’s why you shouldn’t be doing 88 miles per hour in shopping mall parking lots.

Did the flux capacitor even reach the required 1.21 gigawatts?

  25. d0ncray0n

This is why I don’t go to Taco Bell. If they cant care for their employees, then how is my Nacho Cheese combo gonna be cared for?

  26. kawi2k18

Wrongful termination. And pass the name to corporate cause that person shouldn’t be a GM

  27. aStankChitlin

Damn that diablo sauce is no joke. On a serious note, go to HR. Sorry you got fired op.

  28. tylerwarnecke

Do you got fired for something you literally had no control over?!

  29. Mammoth_Cookie_7809

Sounds like you could use some legal help on this one. I’d fight it, get your job back then tell them to eat shit and walk off

  30. SandraDeeSD

Lawyer up. I know someone who got fired for something similar in a similar manor at a restaurant. Made a SHIT ton.

  31. Brief_Grape655

Damm someone actually had explosive diarrhea

  32. MiloTheGreatest99

LTAKE THIS TO YOUR STATE LABOR BOARD. IF A RESTAURANT IS ORDERED TO CLOSE BY LAW ENFORCEMENT/EMS YOU HAVE TO OBLIGE. YOU WERE IN REASONABLE THREAT OF YOUR SAFTEY AND OTHER COWORKERS!!

  33. tidomonkey

Sue them and get paid. Don’t listen to the people saying they can fire you for this in an at-will state. No state allows employers to fire you for not breaking the law for them.

Any adequate lawyer can win this case, assuming this is the whole story and you’re not leaving details out that could otherwise justify your termination.

  34. AloysBane

Sounds like a wrongful termination lawsuit

  35. RadioPimp

Why would you get fired? This is so fucking stupid.
