Oh why Florida. Why do you hate my beloved chili cheese dog?

I grew up in the Midwest and up north. For decades have always loved a good chili cheese burrito, or two, or three. Now down here in Florida, I can’t find them anywhere. I can see maybe it’s hit or miss. But they literally pretty much have none down here. Why? It’s crazy.

If I contact my local tampa taco bell. Any chance at all I can get them to order the chili and sell them? I’ll promise to buy no less than a dozen a month myself if I need to. I’ve recreated them at home now with recipes. But dammit, I want the real deal.

I’ve never had one. It looks delicious. Looks like it could easily be a favorite.

  2. We use to have them when I was a kid. Then Florida locations stopped carrying them and I could only get them on road trips.. it’s been a while since I’ve had one.

I think if people asked they’d have a shot. Certainly a better shot than not asking. Ask them to try it for a quarter. Show them pics from this sub of the “try a chili cheese burrito” signage they can put up to promote it and hope for the best.

Look up on chili cheese locator. Think there are selling them in Orlando, Tampa and down in Sunrise last I checked. I was back home in Ohio earlier this year and got to grab a couple.

  5. The location on Ulmerton in Largo, FL has it available on the app.

I grew up in Clearwater, FL and we lost them about 15 years ago down there. I recently moved to a town outside Chattanooga called Fort Ogelthorpe, GA and the local Taco Bell still has em. It’s honestly the best part about living here.

It’s not a store based thing. Most of the Tampa area stores are owned by a very large franchise out of South Carolina (the Tampa market is their biggest – I work across the bay). So you’ve got a very large chain of command to convince.
