They are going to take longer then they want on your order. Almost all fast food restaurants have a sensor outside there drive through window that is pressure activated and they don’t want you sitting on it. I used to work at Burger King and they’d do this in the evening

Yes. There is a timer that clocks how long the cars sit there. Management purposely tries to keep it down for the higher-ups. The clock isn’t triggered where you’re parked. They’re just playing the clock.

  3. No, if there is a delay on your order (or it’s too big), they want to keep you away from the window until the timer times out and turns you into a ghost car removing the time from the cue.

All about the metrics, longer your car sits in front of the window, the worse the store looks to corporate. Ever had a job that tracked something that was not really in your control but you were told to do better?

So you don’t trigger the timer. Mine has been holding us up at the speaker until the car in front of me has left.

  6. TurdSandwich42104

Omg so this is why other places like DQ for example will be like just pull forward please

  7. pnyluv16

Mine has asked me to back up and then come back to the window before

20 years ago when I worked at Wendy’s, if we had a bad night the manager would have the first worker who left do laps around the building for a few minutes to get the drive thru timer down. Sit at the speaker long enough to trigger the timer to start, then zip around the building and past the 2nd window lickity split.

they don’t want you to see them rubbing their junk on your food

Ghost cars they don’t want to mess up their speed lmao the timer starts when you order or something like that idek fr

If they asked this when you order through walk in…

” can you take 3 steps back, wait 10 seconds then step forward again?

  12. WlzeMan85

It’s the same reason they often ask people to pull around to the front to wait for the order.

They can get in trouble if there are cars sitting at the window for extended periods of time, they have a little sensor that reads if a vehicle is there so they’re trying to keep you off it

I’m gonna sit my ass right at the window hurry the fuck up nothing on the menu is complicated to make food doesnt have to be grilled fr people if you want your bonus just do better don’t cheap the system

  14. FatSubHub

If they do it in the name of customer service. It sucks. I am always asked to pull up or into a parking spot no matter what the size of my order. I find it very annoying especially when no one is behind me waiting.

  15. Probably bc the people at the first window said you ugly af

So it doesn’t mess up the times average for an order they know will take longer. Has sensors that detect how long each car is waiting there and sometimes we buffer where the car is at to help our times

  17. BirdsofAlpha222

Yeah I used to work at Carl’s Jr and our dumbass district manager decided a car could not sit at the window for more than 3 minutes and 30 seconds.

Our chicken took 4:45 in the fryer so how the fuck is this even possible? She changed her mind after we started serving lots of raw chicken

Thing is higher up and corporate pretending like they’re not fucking the system by making people pull up and all this other crap is absolutely outrageous… Get rid of the fucking fast food drive-thru timer, The system is being cheated The numbers are not correct why the fuck do they even have them I know it’s so when you tell the customer don’t pull up or pull around or pull over there.

Corporate meetings go like this region knows how to cheat better than that region, which means the better numbers you have, the worst fucking customer service you have…

Sir we know there’s nobody at all behind you but can you please pull over there and wait, and if you say no we’ll go ahead and take a shit on your hamburger thank you

  19. ConditionHot2227

It activates the speed of service timer which prints out their hourly speed of service reports

  20. OhioVsEverything

No. There is no one behind you. You are holding no one help.

  21. RelativeDot2806

Did they hook you up with something free for doing it? If not, next time pull up half into that area and play on your phone and don’t look at them.

  22. PamelaAndersonBR

You’d distract the workers, you good looking human

  23. Foreign-Guarantee236

They have a sensor that tracks their thine you are at the window

  24. doctorsax14

  26. Used-Ad-803
