I used to get annoyed by the “just make it at home” people because if I wanted to make food at home I wouldn’t go to Taco Bell in the first place, but rising prices have forced me into ::shudder:: preparing my own food.
So anyway, I made some chicken tacos that were pretty bland, so I decided to try making a sauce to add to the remaining chicken meat to perk up the flavor. Looked up taco bell quesadilla sauce used the first copycat recipe I found [https://keytomylime.com/copycat-taco-bell-quesadilla-sauce/](https://keytomylime.com/copycat-taco-bell-quesadilla-sauce/) and slapped it on some flour tortillas with the already cooked chicken and some shredded cheese.
Heated it on the stovetop until the cheese was melted and stuffed it in my face hole. Not exactly the same as TB. I mean, for one there wasn’t four inches of empty tortilla, but in terms of flavor it was close enough to scratch an itch and covered up the blandness of my chicken. Might be improved by toasting the spices before adding them to the sauce to cook out that raw spice flavor.
Anyway, super easy to make and reasonably tasty and you can make several for the price of one TB quesadilla.
