Am I doing it right? Leave them alone? Stems are getting purple. Normally, I’d assume it’s no big deal. But I’ve never cared so much about keeping a plant alive before. And in this case not just alive, but in tip top shape to produce like little champs.
They were planted 2/12 & 2/13. Jalapeños, Tabascos, Pepperoncinis, and Cayennes. Room temps kept at 75° with a heat mat underneath until everything germinated. Have kept by window for full sun conditions and had a grow lamp about 8” above. Getting at least 12-14hrs light. Rotated daily cause they’ll lean to the window. Soil kept moist (maybe too moist?). Bottom watered once daily if not twice morning and evening. These trays can suck up water- add the fans and room temps it goes fast. Last two days near almost all the stems started getting purple at the soil level and walking up. They have fans on them to help keep the stems strong and prevent getting too leggy.
Let me know if I’m just overly concerned or doing something wrong. I want these at their best!
