Chilli Coca-Cola Chicken Strips

INGREDIENTS

– 5 chicken breasts, cut into large strips
– 1/2 TSPN Salt
– 1 TSPN Black Pepper
– 1 TSPN BBQ spice
– 1 TBSPN Chilli Powder
– 1 TSPN Ginger and Garlic paste
– 1 cup Buttermilk
– 1 Cup Flour
– 1/2 Cup Oil, for shallow frying

Chilli Coca-Cola Sauce:
– 1 cup Coca-Cola original taste
– 1 cup smokey BBQ sauce
– 2 red chillies, sliced
– 1 teaspoon crushed garlic
– 1 teaspoon corn starch

METHOD

Marinating the Chicken:
1. In a bowl, combine the buttermilk, salt, pepper, BBQ spice, chilli powder, and ginger-garlic paste.
2. Place the chicken strips into the marinade, ensuring they are well coated.
3. Cover the bowl and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

Making the Chilli Coca-Cola Sauce:
1.Combine the Coca-Cola, BBQ sauce, sliced red chillies, and crushed garlic.
2. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
3. Add in the cornstarch while stirring continuously.
4. Allow the sauce to simmer for another 5-7 minutes, or until it has thickened to your desired consistency.
5. Remove from heat and let the sauce cool down before using.

Cooking the Chicken:
1. Coat each chicken strip in flour, shaking off any excess flour.
2. Carefully place the coated chicken strips into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side.
3. Once cooked, remove the chicken strips from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.

Serving:
1. Arrange the fried chicken strips on a serving platter along with Fries.
2. Drizzle the cooled Chilli Coca-Cola Sauce over the chicken strips.
3. Serve immediately and enjoy with an ice cold coke!
