My first Gindo’s

I keep hearing good things about Gindo’s so I decided to open up one of the bottles from an order I made back a few months ago.

I love fresh tasting sauces so this one looked especially good to me to try first – it’s a collaboration between Gindo’s and a big farm and garden center from the same area, using peppers grown at the Wasco farms.

This has a big fresh pepper flavor and a surprising amount of heat. It’s labeled as a medium sauce but it’s probably the spiciest “medium” sauce I’ve tasted. They don’t disclose what exactly is in the Wasco Pepper Blend but there’s definitely a big habanero presence plus I’m thinking a few super hots like scorpions or reapers because this has a bit of that flavor too and a big kick.

They use a lot of herbs and exotic salts which combine for a nice savory backbone, and there is a good citrus note from the lemon zest which offers the vinegar so that this doesn’t taste vinegary but still has a nice tang.

Really tasty sauce overall and I’m looking forward to trying more from Gindo’s.
