Here lies Bravado Pineapple Habanero –
6.4/10
I first met this sauce as a gift from one of the employees at my job site (does this mean she’s in love with me?). Bravado has always been one of those reliable brands that deliver a better-than-average product. At this point I’ve had more than half of their lineup, and it’s always been faithful to me. The Black Garlic Reaper has been a sauce I’ve recommended more than a few times for different reasons. But we are here to talk about THIS sauce, so let’s get into the review!
REVIEW: This is a fairly simple sauce, but that is a positive thing for a lot of people, including myself sometimes. When I see pineapple being the headliner for the show, I get a bit skeptical that the sauce may be a bit too sweet for a fruity sauce, but I am always pleasantly wrong. I think the bell pepper does a lot to curb that sweetness and cuts the heat as well. I’d say this lands on the lower half of heat for a habanero sauce. Even with vinegar being the second ingredient, I personally didn’t think this had a strong flavor from that, and my only gripe for the sauce is that it could benefit from a bit more salt. Based on all these previous statements, one may think that this is a bland sauce, and I don’t mean for it to sound like that- but maybe this could actually benefit from leaning into one of the ingredients a bit more. Put this in a Hawaiian bowl. Rest in Peace, Spicy Prince.
