Scotch Boyz – Scotch Bonnet – OBITUARY REVIEW

Here lies Scoth Boyz Scotch Bonnet –

6.3/10

I do not remember where I first met this sauce. While lurking this company’s website, I am reading about their support for local farms in Jamaica. They’re very proud of their endeavors, and they should be, because it looks like they do a lot of good for the communities! According to the site, they support over 200 small farmers in which they buy their product. They have something called the “Give Back Tracker”, whereas they explain how every bottle has a QR code you can scan, and that individual QR code gives you an NTF, where you can track the progress and growth. Additionally to that, The Scotch Boyz Foundation funds educational systems, including giving grants to underfunded and lesser-privileged areas with marginalized groups. They provide school supplies, and also offer education directly that is forged around the importance farming and critical thinking. Each purchase contributes to an underfunded school in Jamaica; according to the website. Is someone cutting onions? Even though this initiative is far away from home, it still makes me feel great that there are businesses out there still pushing to make children more comfortable, and working to create a better environment and future. Thank you, Scotch Boyz. Now, let’s get into the review!

REVIEW: This truly is one of the more straightforward sauces. Truthfully, I don’t have a ton to say about the sauce itself, so I recommend trying it for yourself. This one is basic, but sometimes that’s what we’re looking for. I remember the cost of this being a bit below what it says on the site; I think at the time I paid $4 for it, which I thought was great because I had seen this one around, and I like scotch bonnet peppers quite a bit. While this sauce could benefit from more peppers and less water, maybe this is targeted towards a wider audience, making it a bit more agreeable. This has an excellent fruity/vegetal bite of the pepper and has a heat level that is around the upper half of mild for a scotch bonnet sauce. Because of its simplicity, it’s a versatile sauce that may be a good option if you’re wanting to try scotch bonnets for the first time to dip your toes in. Rest in Peace, Spicy Prince
