Here lies Seed Ranch’ Everything But… the Sushi and Dumplings –
9.6/10
I first met this sauce on Amazon. Seed Ranch is another one of those brands that’s I’m excited to get into. It’s been hovering at the top of my priority list since I started doing these reviews, because the labeling appearance is right up my alley, and the types of sauce they offer aren’t your typical basic ones (not that basic is bad, I just like unique options now that I’ve gotten more into this adventure). I plan on putting in an order for the whole lineup instead of just grabbing one at a time like I normally do, so give my account a follow to expect more reviews in the future! Frozen dumplings are my guilty pleasure for a lazy night where I don’t feel like cooking. While they’re nowhere near healthy, it’s much better than a frozen pizza or hot pockets. Enter- this sauce. On my quest to find the best dipping pairing for my lil dumples, I was ecstatic to find that Seed Ranch had this made specifically for me and me alone. Let’s get into this review!
REVIEW: I’m not even completely sure where to start with this one! This is beyond a hot sauce, it’s a sauce that perfectly serves its purpose, and Seed Ranch must’ve had some sauce geniuses in a think tank crafting this one. This one is such a great balance of all the flavors within. It has several angles each of spicy, umami, sweet, and sour, and truthfully, I had a tough time pinning down specific ingredients that stand stronger than the rest. As the highest rated sauce I’ve reviewed, this might possibly be the Messiah of Asian-inspired bottled goodness. Usually, I’ll pick apart each ingredient and describe its role for the whole, but this one is like an all-star sports team. This sauce is like a dance troupe that is perfectly in sync. This is like a supergroup of your favorite instrumentalists forming the perfect band. It almost feels reductive to call this a “hot sauce”, and that’s not because the heat levels of this are mild, but because this has so much more to offer than just that. The vinegar and tamari are a perfect combo of tangy and sour; the horseradish and wasabi open the senses so that the miso and ginger can be set free amongst your tastebuds; the carrot, onion, and sesame oil just stack even more flavors on top of that, adding subtle sweetness to the umami bomb. Typically, when I see an ingredient list like this, I think it is disjointed, but you all can obviously tell by this review that Seed Ranch made a symphony of pleasure. This now has a permanent place in my house and in my heart. Rest in Peace, Spicy Prince
