Prawn Chatti Choru is a traditional Kerala-style rice dish cooked and served in a clay pot (“chatti”). It combines spicy prawn masala with rice and is usually topped with fried onions, curry leaves..

Ingredients
For Prawns
500 g prawns – cleaned, deveined
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
1 tsp chilli powder
½ tsp turmeric powder
Salt – to taste
1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)

For Prawn Masala
3 tbsp coconut oil or ghee
2 onions – thinly sliced
2 green chillies – slit
1 sprig curry leaves
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
1 tomato – finely chopped or pureed
1 tsp chilli powder
½ tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp coriander powder
½ tsp pepper powder
1/2 tsp Garam masala
Salt – to taste
