These additional stems on the leaf nodes, are they suckers, the same as you would find on a tomato plant?

No need to pinch them. They will turn into branches with more places to produce more fruits. They won’t turn into craze vines like on a tomato plant.
No need to punch off anything.
Peppers and tomatoes dont grow the same so they shouldn’t be treated exactly the same. Hell you don’t even punch off suckers on all tomatoes, only indeterminate.

EFF NO!! Pinch the big sun leaves. They help branches get started, but then they suck up nutrients later on.
