First time growing peppers

I am growing some Hatch green and some Habanero peppers.

How much SHOULD I stress them out to get them to crank up the capsaicin levels?

I have not watered them in about four days. They are clearly stressed out but are they stressed enough? Will waiting another day before I water help to increase the heat levels ?

Don’t let them wilt out too long. They can go from being a bit thirsty to dead quite quickly.

I’ve never measured or compared it, but I always water once they wilt vs the ol’ soil dryness test, and I have pretty hot peppers every year. Who knows if it’s doing anything tho.

  2. I get what you’re going for but it’s kinda silly. You’ll have better luck just taking care of the plant. It won’t be that noticeable if noticeable at all. If you want hotter just grow something hotter than a hab. Water the damn thing

If you want hotter peppers, buy hotter seeds, don’t kill your plant because it might make your pepper 1% hotter.
