This slow cooker chilli con carne is rich, hearty, full of flavour and exactly the kind of recipe you want bubbling away when you need dinner sorted with minimal faff.
In this video, I’ll show you how to make the best slow cooker chilli con carne using lean beef, smoky spices, tomatoes, kidney beans and a few simple ingredients that build loads of flavour. The slow cooker does most of the work, leaving you with tender beef, a thick chilli sauce and a proper comforting dinner the whole family can get stuck into.
This is a brilliant recipe for busy weeknights, meal prep, batch cooking or feeding a crowd. Serve it with rice, wraps, baked potatoes, salad, or pile it into a bowl with a bit of yoghurt, cheese and fresh coriander on top.
It’s also a great option if you’re looking for a healthy chilli con carne recipe, a high-protein slow cooker dinner, or an easy recipe that tastes even better the next day.

That looks braw. I always find chilli can be a bit watery when I make it, especially in slow cooker. I'll give this one a whirl and see what happens. The bacon addition is inspired.
This is one of our favourites. Best chilli ever
I have replaced my air fryer oven with an air fryer with draws. I just brown every thing in that before chucking it in the slow cooker. Easy peasy 😻
Supermarket mince is full of water which makes it difficult to brown properly and can make the finished dish watery. I always buy minced meat from the butcher. Grated carrots dissolve in the cooking (fry them with the other veg) and they lend a lovely sweetness which offsets the power of the tomatoes. Oh, and 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda makes a huge difference because it counteracts the acidity of the tomatoes. I’d also add a bay leaf (or two). Good video though 👍.
i like to add a few scotch bonnets
