Keep or remove low leaves

First time growing aji limon peppers – I’m getting a lot of new growth towards the bottom of the stem. Is this normal for this plant? Should I keep them since the plant wants to grow them or should I remove?

Seeing as your main stem has branched, you can now begin removing leaves (one set weekly) up to the branch point. It’s a good way to redirect the plant’s energy to more useful places (like branches that will actually grow fruits, and the fruits themselves).

I’d keep them. They are going to be your strongest branches.

My Lemon’s top growth has slowed after transplanting outside, and the lower branches are making up the difference.
