I just took on the red one in the background and got my butt kicked. Tears of fire and nose running like a river, this is a brutal, no nonsense pepper… my tongue is currently numb, but I can certainly feel my stomach. This is going to be “fun” in the morning, I’m sure. I’m used to Reaper varieties slowly cranking up the heat, but this one skips the niceties and just gets down to business the second you bite down and it’s one of the few times I actually had serious second thoughts about just spitting it out in the trash, but down it went and hopefully stays down.
Heat level – nuclear, face melting, and painful from the go.
Burn – like chewing a lit match.
Flavor – ? Is there flavor? There’s something sweet there, but I was too busy calculating just how long a burn could last so I got a little distracted. I’ll have to wait a few days to find another ripe one for a more in depth analysis.
Overall impression – this one got bumped down the list for heat? Again, the instant onset might make cause me to overrate this as there are certainly longer lasting burns (it’s fading now while a Reaper would still be climbing), but it’s the difference between taking an uppercut on the jaw or 12 rounds of body shots.
