Welcome back to Hands Off-Hosting – World Cup Edition 🌎🏆⚽️ This recipe typifies the series. Super simple, feeds a crowd, and ready to serve whenever anyone wants one.
.
If you want to make the sauce from scratch, or brown the mince along with an onion first, I’m all for it. In this version I just add a bit of tomato puree to thicken and a splash of BBQ sauce for some smokey depth.
.To make 8 loaded dogs:
* 500g beef mince
* 500g jar of chilli sauce (I use @marksandspencerfood Family Chilli Sauce)
* 400g tin Red kidney beans, drained
* 1 tbsp tomato puree
* A splash of BBQ sauce (optional)
* 8 hot dogs (the precooked kind, not raw sausages)
* 8 brioche hot dog buns
* I top with: grated cheese, mustard, jalapeños, diced red onion .
1. Add the beef mince to the slow cooker with the jar of chilli sauce, tomato puree and a splash of BBQ sauce. Stir well.
2. Cook on low for 7+ hours or high for 3-4.
3. Around 30 minutes before serving, add the hot dogs to heat through.
4. Build each loaded dog – bun, hot dog, a big spoonful of chilli, grated cheese and toppings of your choice.
