My wife was gifted a plant of Serrano peppers and after harvesting they are not spicy at all. The red one on the cutting board had a little kick around the calyx but that is it.
We have been watering them every day and they are in direct sunlight; they sat on the plant for about a month maybe a month and a half.
What am I doing wrong?

Watering them every day. That’s the problem. You’re supposed to let them starve for water to make them produce more capsaicin.
