AUGUSTA — A new restaurant known for chicken and sliders will open its first location in Augusta in a few weeks.
Dave’s Hot Chicken will open its first location in Augusta with a grand opening scheduled for March 27 at 1102 Trust Ave. in Augusta, according to a media release from hospitality company Built Different Brands.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 10:15 a.m., with doors opening at 10:30 a.m.
Dave’s Hot Chicken is known for its cult following and street-art-inspired atmosphere. The restaurant specializes in hand-breaded, halal-certified sliders and tenders, the release said.
The chain also features seven spice levels and carries the motto: “There’s a spice level for every tastebud.”
The grand opening will include a ceremonial flag presentation by the Girl Scouts, the National Anthem performed by the RCTCM White Tigers Ensemble and a “Mystery Envelope” giveaway.
The first 250 guests between 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., and another 250 guests between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. who purchase a meal, will receive a Mystery Envelope containing prizes to be revealed on their next visit, according to the release.
There will also be a mobile Mulligans golf simulator where guests can compete for a chance to win free Dave’s Hot Chicken for a year. A ticket giveaway is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., with live entertainment beginning at 5 p.m.
“Augusta has an incredible energy, and we are thrilled to bring a brand that people are truly passionate about to the area,” Kal Gullapalli, CEO of Built Different Brands, said in the release. “From our partnership with local schools to celebrating with our first responders, we are excited to celebrate with our entire community.”
Local officials, including representatives from the Augusta mayor’s office, the Augusta Fire Department and the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, are expected to attend.
Dave’s Hot Chicken began in 2017 by four friends scraped together $900 to open a small stand in an East Hollywood parking lot. Since then, it has become one of the fastest-growing fast-casual concepts in the country.
