Frito-Lay is recalling select bags of the potato chips that may contain jalapeño chips by mistake, resulting in an undeclared milk allergen.
WASHINGTON — Frito-Lay has issued a recall for select 8-ounce bags of Miss Vickie’s Spicy Dill Pickle potato chips sold in six states because they may contain jalapeño-flavored chips instead.
The concern is that the jalapeño-flavored potato chips include milk, while the dill pickle ones don’t.
The company said people with a milk allergy or severe sensitivity could face a serious or potentially life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the recalled product. The chips are safe to eat for people who do not have a dairy allergy or milk sensitivity.
The recall applies only to Miss Vickie’s Spicy Dill Pickle 8 oz. bags with the following information:

“Guaranteed Fresh” date: APR 21, 2026
Manufacturing codes: 38U301414 or 48U101514
The products may have been distributed as early as Jan. 15, 2026, to grocery stores, convenience stores, drug stores and online retailers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.
No other Miss Vickie’s products, sizes or flavors are included in the recall, including bags sold in variety packs.
Frito-Lay said it identified the issue after being contacted by a consumer, but did not release any details about how the mix-up occurred.
As of March 4, no allergic reactions related to the product had been reported, according to the company.
“A limited number of 8 oz. bags of Miss Vickie’s Spicy Dill Pickle Potato Chips are being recalled as they could include jalapeño-flavored potato chips and therefore may contain an undeclared milk allergen,” Frito-Lay said in a statement. “Unless a consumer has a dairy allergy or sensitivity to milk, this product is safe to consume.”
Consumers who do have a milk allergy or sensitivity should not eat the chips and discard the product immediately, the company said.
