Get ready for one of the most flavorful community events of the year as the 2026 Boots & Badges Chili Cook Off returns on Saturday, October 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Pitchess Detention Center and Jack Bones Equestrian Center in Castaic. This family-friendly event brings together local law enforcement, first responders, businesses, community organizations and chili enthusiasts for a day of fun, food and fundraising, all benefiting Special Olympics Southern California athletes from the Santa Clarita and Tri-Valley regions.
Guests will have the opportunity to sample a variety of chili recipes from competing booths and cast their vote for their favorite by purchasing a tasting card. Whether you enjoy traditional chili, spicy creations or unique secret recipes, there will be something for every palate. Beyond the competition, attendees can enjoy live music, LASD displays, local crafters, vendors, a beer garden, food and beverage options, and a dedicated Kids Zone that makes the event enjoyable for all ages.
