Veegmyeats, a popular pop-up vegan bakery based out of Hartford, is opening its first brick and mortar location in Middletown, according to the owner.

Owner Sheena Salvador said she plans to open the bakery Aug. 22 next door to Aroy Thai Garden at 203 Main St., a vegan Thai place.

Previously, Veegmyeats had only offered pick-up and delivery out of a space in Hartford. She also sold her vegan sweet treats at several pop-up events in the Hartford-Bloomfield and New York area the past couple of years, according to Salvador’s Facebook page.

Salvador has been a vendor at the West Hartford Festival, Gastro Park in Coventry, Black Vegfest in Brooklyn and Planted Culture Market, New York’s monthly vegan festival, according to her Facebook page.

“To everyone who has supported us, placed an order, stopped by our tent, shared a post, told a friend, or simply believed in us when this was just an idea, thank you. You helped make this possible,” Salvador said about the move to Middletown in an Instagram post.

“This moment is bigger than a bakery. It’s proof that dreams built one cupcake, one cookie, and one customer at a time can become something real,” she said in the post.

Veegmyeats offers vegan cupcakes, brownies, cookies, cheesecakes, as well as gluten-free cookies and cupcakes. There are also vegan treats made with a plant-based Nutella.

Cupcake flavors include strawberry shortcake, cookie dough, carrot cake, pistachio cream, s’mores and triple chocolate with chocolate ganache filling, as well as others.

Cookie varieties include white chocolate macadamia, peanut butter fluff, snickerdoodle and the classic sugar cookie, to name a few.

For cheesecake lovers, slices includ white chocolate raspeberry and turtle.

Hours for the Middletown location are not listed at this time.
