Great Inland Seafood Festival returns to Newport this weekend

Seafood lovers will have a chance to enjoy some great food this weekend at Newport’s Festival Park.

The Great Inland Seafood Festival will return to Newport’s Riverboat Row from Aug. 13-16.

The festival will bring fresh seafood, live music, drinks and more along the Ohio River, with guests getting to choose from a wide variety of food options like lobster, crab, shrimp, oysters, crawfish, salmon, walleye, cod, alligator, frog legs and more.

Festival favorites include lobster rolls, seafood tacos and quesadillas, crab boils, seafood mac and cheese, shrimp and grits, po’boys, crab cake sliders, fried oysters, blackened fish and seafood pineapple boats.

Below is a list of participating seafood vendors:

Whole Maine Lobsters — Fresh whole Maine lobsters Naughty Lobstah — Lobster rolls; shrimp or lobster tacos; and shrimp or lobster quesadillas Chopp Boxx — Prime Butcher crab boils and shrimp, salmon and crab hibachi Big Bamboo’s Caribbean Grill — Fish and chips, gator bites, shark bites, walleye bites, crab cake sliders, shrimp buckets, tacos and po’boys A Lil Taste of Soul — Cajun lobster rolls, shrimp and grits, seafood mac and cheese and loaded crab fries Raw Bar — An assortment of fresh shellfish Fortune Dumpling — Sweet-and-sour fish, wok shrimp-fried noodles, crab rangoons and shrimp dumplings Hammerhead’s Grill — Seafood pineapple boats, alligator brats, Cajun-fried frog legs and fried whole fish BJ’s Fried Concessions — Fried oysters, clam strips, fish, shrimp, crab cakes and gator on a stick BJ’s Grilled Concessions — Grilled and blackened fish, grilled shrimp, boiled crawfish and boiled shrimp Maw Maw’s Creole Kitchen — Bourbon Street shrimp tacos, seafood étouffée and Creole honey shrimp Captain’s Seafood Market — Beer-battered cod, crabby lobster mac and cheese, shrimp, oyster and crab cake platters, hush puppies, roasted corn and key lime pie

Most vendors will accept cash and credit cards, while drinks are cashless. Admission to the festival is free for all.
