Burbank
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY: Rakeem P. Bush, 25, Danville, and Danin D. Smith, 24, Chicago, were charged with residential burglary and resisting arrest and Edward J. Davis, 32, 400 block of Hirsch Avenue, Calumet City, was charged with aggravated fleeing, failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision, hit-run and resisting arrest on July 16, police said. The charges stem from a July 15 residential burglary in the 7900 block of Rutherford Avenue and a crash into a parked vehicle, police said.
GAMBLING BURGLARY: Officers responding to an early July 20 break-in at Joey’s Red Hots, 7920 S. Lavergne Avenue, found the glass front door with an estimated $3,000 in damages, no one inside and the gambling machines untouched, police said. Officers noted pry marks on an ATM, but were unable to determine if the damage was old or new, police said.
Chicago Ridge
PUBLIC INDECENCY: Fares Hijazi, 20, 7300 block west 85th Street, Bridgeview, is scheduled to appear in Cook County court at Bridgeview Sept. 9, charged with public indecency/lewd exposure, police said. Hijazi was arrested Aug. 9 in a business in the 10100 block of Harlem Avenue where he was pleasuring himself, police said.
PROPERTY DAMAGE: Colby L. Shelton, 34, Chicago Ridge, is scheduled to appear in Cook County court at Bridgeview Aug. 27, charged with criminal damage to property and assault in connection with kicking in an apartment door in the 10400 block of Nashville Avenue on Aug. 10, police said.
Evergreen Park
PROPERTY DAMAGE: A juvenile cell door window sustained several deep cracks July 22 from being hit by an individual in custody, police said.
AGGRAVATED FLEEING: An Indiana woman’s car was seized and impounded after she refused to identify men who had been hanging out the windows pointing pistols at other motorists July 26 near the intersection of 87th Street and Kedzie Avenue, police said. Hobart, Indiana, officers curbed the car and turned it over to Evergreen Park officers, police said.
Homer Glen
GAMBLING BURGLARIES: Two gambling businesses less than 3 miles apart were broken into early Aug. 4 by crews smashing through the front glass doors, Will County sheriff’s police said. Sam’s Bar & Gaming, 12320 W. 143rd St., was otherwise undamaged at 5:15 a.m. but deputies at 5:35 a.m. found Nick’s BBQ, 15800 S. Bell Road, was missing an unspecified number of cash boxes from several damaged video slot machines, Will County sheriff’s police said.
Homer Township
DUI CRASH: Andrew R. Andersen, 31, 12200 block of Gregory Street, Blue Island, was arrested July 23 during a two-vehicle crash investigation at 159th Street and Codo Drive in Homer Township and subsequently charged with drunken driving, failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision and failing to provide proof of insurance, sheriff’s police said.
Midlothian
GUN POSSESSION: Jeonni Cunningham, 24, Lansing, was arrested July 27 and subsequently charged with aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon after officers recovered a loaded firearm during a stop in the 3900 block of 145th Street, Cook County sheriff’s police said.
Mokena
ARMED ROBBERY: Two men wielding handguns entered Fog City, 19811 S. LaGrange Road, at closing time Aug. 1, taking $800 from a register and a person’s luxury brand watch and a wallet containing $600 and credit cards, police said. One victim was kicked in the back and the other was thrown to the ground, police said.
Oak Lawn
AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Jose A. Salgado-Hernandez, 29, 9400 block of 55th Avenue, Oak Lawn, was arrested July 5 in the 9400 block of 55th Avenue and subsequently charged with aggravated battery to a police officer and five counts of resisting arrest after taking hold of an officer’s arm and pushing the officer with both hands, injuring her knee, and thwarting officers’ attempts to handcuff him, police said.
THEFT: An $18,000 camera and wire set used to check pipeline interiors was reported taken Aug. 10 from a trailer in the 5700 block of 88th Place, police said.
Orland Park
IDENTITY THEFT: Anibal Blanco, 33, Bronx, New York, was charged with eight counts of possessing a fraudulent identity card with intent to commit another felony and Dioris De La Rosa-Amparo, 38, Yonkers, New York, was charged with one count of identity theft after officers recovered a fictional New Jersey driver’s license and bundle of identifications from Blanco July 21 in the 15400 block of Wolf Road, police said. Officers also determined the two were receiving personal information over the phone about people they didn’t know, police said.
Palos Heights
AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Lindsay Ward, 41, 13900 block of Waterbury Drive, Palos Heights, was arrested and subsequently charged with aggravated battery to police officer after kicking an officer in the chest during an Aug. 12 crash investigation in the 12100 block of Ridgeland Avenue, police said. Ward was also charged with drunken driving and failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision, police said.
Palos Hills
IDENTITY THEFT: A ride-share driver reported Aug. 12 having given driver’s license and credit card information to a caller claiming to be from the company, only to begin receiving bank notifications that someone was trying to fraudulently withdraw money.
Park Forest
SEX OFFENDER: Bernard V. Phillips, 44, homeless, was arrested Aug. 2 at the Park Forest police station and subsequently charged with failing to register as a sex offender, police said. Phillips, a sexual predator, was convicted in Will County when he was 33 of criminal sex abuse of a 14-year-old, according to the Illinois Sex Offender Registry
Steger
BUSINESS BURGLARY: Two cars, a computer, diagnostic equipment and cash were reported taken Aug. 5 from Steger Auto Center, 450 W. 34th St., which had been entered through a broken window, police said.
