New bagel shop to take over former legacy Blocks Bagels location

A bagel recipe worth preserving.

Anything Bagel is taking over the former Blocks Bagel space at 6115 McNaughten Ctr. Blocks had been serving the Columbus community since 1967 until the founder’s passing in 2025, which led to the closure of its locations. In 2025, the property was briefly owned by a Cincinnati shop, Marx Bagels, which shuttered last spring to focus on its Cincinnati locations.

The new, revitalized space with an updated black-and-yellow aesthetic will be holding its Grand Opening on August 14, where customers can try legacy-crafted bagels.

BROUGHT TO YOU BY

Anything Bagels was fortunate to inherit the Original Blocks Recipe and is committed to baking the same way. Beyond the bagels, the shop will also offer breakfast sandwiches and deli items.

It will also start a new menu concept called Bake It Forward, where once a week, a rotating specialty bagel will be offered, and a portion of its proceeds will go to a local cause Anything Bagel supports.

Anything Bagel will be open Monday through Sunday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
