Olamaie, a celebrated Austin restaurant, will serve its final meal on July 19.
AUSTIN, Texas — A popular and renowned restaurant in Downtown Austin will soon serve its final meal.
The owners of Olamaie, located at San Antonio and West 17th streets, announced the restaurant will close its doors on July 19 after 12 years in business.
Having first opened in 2014, the restaurant earned a prestigious Michelin star in 2024. The owners revealed the news in an Instagram post on Wednesday, thanking customers and both current and former staff for the restaurant’s success over the years:

“Our twelve year run at Olamaie is coming to an end on July 19th.
“It’s impossible to find the words to convey the sentiments related to closing a restaurant that has meant so much. Gratitude is the feeling that comes forward overwhelmingly.
“Thanks to our guests and community for the opportunity to celebrate with you. It’s been an honor to be trusted with life’s best moments.
“Thanks to all of our staff current and former. Without your brilliance, none of this would have been possible.
“We’re proud to have been given the confidence of our purveyors to represent their products the best we can.
“Our mission has always been to offer excellence through our warmth. We’re proud of what we have accomplished.
“We’ll be here doing our thing for a couple more weeks. It would be lovely to see y’all so we can say thanks one last time.”
