Following a visit from celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, Lake Cafe in Big Lake has reopened.
The restaurant closed from Sept. 11 to 15 for the filming of a Ramsay-hosted TV show, believed to be “Kitchen Nightmares.”
If it was indeed “Kitchen Nightmares,” the format of the show sees Ramsay visit a struggling restaurant and help it reverse its fortunes, often tightening up the menu and suggesting new dishes.
“We welcome you,” reads a Facebook post from Lake Cafe about the reopening, “but please be patient with us. We just went through five overwhelming, whirlwind days.”
The message continues, saying that its current menu is small.

“We have the items that Chef Gordon Ramsay put together for us, and we are excited to share them with you,” the restaurant said.
“Our regular menu is limited at this time while we create our new menu. We will add some of our menu items back as we move forward and get our items back in stock.”
Details about the show and when it will air have not been shared publicly.
Lake Cafe describes itself as a “small hometown cafe” that has been serving customers for almost 60 years, having been opened in its current form by Ronald and Ethel Cox in May 1968, and is still run by the Cox family to this day.
