LEXINGTON, Ky. — Goodfellas Pizzeria plans to open a new South Lexington restaurant at Palomar Centre in spring 2027.
The Lexington-founded pizza company will occupy the former Fazoli’s location. The restaurant will include a full bar, an outdoor dining patio, private event space and on-site parking.
Goodfellas will offer its New York-style pizza by the slice and as whole pies, along with the company’s lunch special. Its private space will accommodate birthday parties, team celebrations, family gatherings and other events.
The company said the restaurant is being designed as a neighborhood gathering place, with an emphasis on building connections with South Lexington residents, schools and youth sports programs.
“We’ve grown a lot over the past 20 years, but Lexington is where Goodfellas started,” co-owner Alex Coats said. “We’re excited to bring a new neighborhood-style Goodfellas to South Lexington and create a place where families, friends and the community can come together.”
Goodfellas was founded in Lexington in 2006 by Coats and Eric Boggs. The company, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, has expanded into Ohio, Indiana and Tennessee while continuing to operate restaurants in Kentucky.
“We want this to be the neighborhood pizza place,” Boggs said. “A place where you know the people, see familiar faces and feel like you’re part of the community.”
The Palomar restaurant will retain the Italian-American and New York-inspired atmosphere associated with Goodfellas while introducing a format designed for the surrounding South Lexington neighborhoods.
“We’re excited to welcome Goodfellas Pizzeria to Palomar Centre,” said Woodford Webb, the property’s landlord and owner. “Goodfellas is a well-known Lexington brand, and we believe it will be a great addition to the property and the South Lexington community.”
Construction and development are expected to take place over the coming months. The company did not announce an exact opening date.
