Portland dining favorite Oven and Shaker is closing its Pearl District location at the end of next month.
The pizzeria and bar spent the last 15 years in the Pearl. They say their last day at the locale will be Friday, October 30.
In a statement, co-owner Ryan Magarian says the final month will be a celebration featuring food and drink favorites from throughout the restaurant’s run, including an all-original cocktail menu honoring their bartenders past and present.
Co-owner and chef Cathy Whims, who is also behind Nostrana, publicly thanked everyone who visited and helped give their restaurant “such a wonderful life.”
“I have spent most of my life building restaurants, and I know how rare it is for one to have such a long life,” Whims said on Facebook. “I’m enormously proud of what we created, of the work Ryan and so many others have done to sustain it over the years, and deeply grateful to everyone who has been part of its story.”
Oven and Shaker closed its Lake Oswego location last year, replaced by another pizza shop called Pizzeria Otto.
Their website says the Oven and Shaker location at the Portland International Airport will remain open, however, the owners have not commented directly about the future of that spot.
