Food truck fans across Washington now have a new way to track down their favorite mobile meals with the launch of the Washington State Food Truck Finder, an interactive online platform designed to connect customers with food trucks throughout the state.
The project was co-developed by the Washington State Food Truck Association and Victory Tech Solutions, a technology company owned by Avenue Catering, a food truck and catering business based in Skagit County.
The platform is designed to give customers one place to discover local food trucks, explore what they offer and find out where and when they are serving. Instead of functioning like a basic directory, the Food Truck Finder allows food truck owners to build profiles that can include the following:
Daily serving locations and schedulesSpecial events and upcoming appearancesPhotosMenus and food offeringsSocial media linksContact information and links to websitesOnline ordering options.
“Food trucks are constantly on the move, and one of the biggest challenges for customers has always been figuring out where their favorite truck will be today,” said Lori Johnson, director of the Washington State Food Truck Association. “The Food Truck Finder was created to solve that problem and give Washington food truck fans one place to find the trucks, see what they’re serving, and find out where they’ll be next.”
Organizers say a key feature is that food truck owners can use the Food Truck Finder for free, aiming to make participation accessible for small, independent mobile food businesses that may face listing fees, subscription costs, advertising charges or commissions on other platforms.
The Washington State Food Truck Association said Washington’s food truck industry includes hundreds of independent businesses serving a wide range of food, from gourmet sandwiches and tacos to international cuisine, desserts, coffee and seafood. The Finder is intended to serve as a statewide resource for customers looking for lunch options, food trucks at community events, catering for gatherings, or new local businesses to try.
