OKLAHOMA CITY, OK –
The Oklahoma State Fair has officially wrapped up—and after 11 days of rides, food and fun, thousands of people are making one last trip through the gates.
Final attendance and revenue numbers won’t be available for another week, but businesses here say the fair is already proving to be a big opportunity.
“Because it is a Sunday, people are off work and they have kids out, and I think they try to get and you get better deals. On the last night,” Susan Triplett, worker at Eli Soul Food said. “People are trying to get rid of stuff versus they get all the hybrid.”

While the final numbers are still being tallied, you don’t need a calculator to see the money changing hands here at the state fair.
Tyler Smith said he spent about $50 on food on Sunday, but spent more when he came out earlier in the week with his family. He says they are more frugal compared to other families and he is more an observer than a spender.

But for other families, the State Fair is no match for their wallet.
“Honestly, probably about 3 or 4 grand,” Fair goer James Turner said. “I’m a single father, so he gets everything I got.”
Turner said the smile on his sons face is all worth it.

The State Fair is a family tradition both for the visitors and the vendors.
“This is the 36th year for this family, we’re in our fourth generation and to even throughout the fair, we’ve had the three generations of rollers south,” worker at the cinnamon roll stand at Silver Dollar Concessions Sherilyn Rowlet said. “So it’s been really wonderful.”
Fair officials say they won’t have the final attendance and revenue numbers for another week.
Last year’s fair brought in more than 800,000 visitors — so we’ll soon find out whether this year’s crowd was even bigger.
