The Shreveport Police Department is investigating a shooting at a house party that left seven people injured.
On Saturday morning around 3:55 a.m., Shreveport Police Department Officers responded to the 1100 block of Crestmoor Drive following reports of gunfire.
When SPD got to the scene, they found several people suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began securing the scene, rendering aid to the injured, and detaining individuals who were present as investigators worked to determine what happened.
One victim was found to be suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso and was believed to have sustained life-threatening injuries. As Officers continued their investigation, additional victims began showing up at local hospitals and an SPD substation seeking help for gunshot wounds they got during the shooting.
Investigators have confirmed that seven people were injured by gunfire. One victim sustained life-threatening injuries.
Detectives with the Shreveport Police Department Violent Crimes Unit responded and began an investigation.
Information gathered by Detectives indicates that a house party was taking place at a residence on Crestmoor Drive during the early morning hours. As the party was ending and attendees were leaving the home, an argument broke out between two men. Investigators believe the verbal fight may have been connected to a physical fight involving other people at the gathering earlier in the evening.
During the confrontation, several shots were fired, striking or grazing several people.
Detectives are actively working to identify the shooter and determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

“Anyone who attended the house party, witnessed the shooting, or has cellphone video or other information that could assist investigators is urged to contact the Shreveport Police Department. Information may also be provided anonymously through Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers.
This remains an active investigation, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.”
