Bafang Yunji International (2753.TW), Taiwan’s dominant potsticker chain, has officially commenced operations at its first Texas location in Carrollton, situated within the Dallas metropolitan area. Chairwoman Lin Hsin-Yi stated during an earnings call that the store completed its soft-opening stress test in September, marking a significant milestone in the group’s expansion into the U.S. South-Central market and signaling that its “three-state, three-track” strategy spanning California, Texas, and Arizona has entered a phase of tangible contribution.

The Texas flagship celebrated its pre-opening event on September 25, coinciding with Taiwan’s Mid-Autumn Festival, with Carrollton Mayor Steve Babick and city council members in attendance. Lin noted that with successful store launches in California and Texas, Arizona remains the only piece of the first-phase three-state expansion strategy yet to be realized, and the group will proceed steadily to deliver strong results for consumers and investors alike.

Carrollton Site Targets Tech Corridor Dining Demand

The decision to locate the first Texas store in Carrollton was driven by the area’s sustained population growth, ethnic diversity, and the well-established ecosystem of Taiwanese technology companies. Carrollton, along with Phoenix, Arizona, forms a critical tech corridor for Taiwanese tech investment in the U.S., generating robust demand for Taiwanese cuisine. Dallas Fort Worth International Airport ranks third globally in passenger traffic, providing a stable consumer base from both local residents and transient visitors.

To adapt to U.S. consumer habits, the Texas location operates under a quick-service restaurant (QSR) model, featuring simplified combo meals and an open-kitchen visual ordering flow that enables international customers to order and pick up intuitively. The menu retains core brand items such as potstickers, dumplings, and beef noodle soup, while adding Taiwanese cultural staples including Taiwanese sausage, pork meatball soup, and fried pork cutlet, alongside salads and soft drinks tailored to local dining preferences. Responding to Texas consumers’ preference for crispy textures and sauces, the store also introduced Korean-style fried dumplings, striking a balance between brand identity and localization.

U.S. Expansion Accelerates with Seven Signed Leases

Bafang Yunji currently holds seven signed leases across Texas and Arizona. A second Texas location in Frisco has entered the renovation phase and is expected to open before year-end, with remaining stores progressing through design and permitting. As of end-August 2026, the group operated 16 U.S. stores, up from 12 in the same period last year. With five signed Texas locations set to open progressively, the Texas market has officially transitioned from preparatory phase to operational stage.

The group’s global store count reached 1,412 as of end-August, comprising 1,325 in Taiwan, 71 in Hong Kong, and 16 in the United States. In Taiwan, the Bafang Yunji brand has surpassed 1,000 locations, with the group’s dual flagship brands continuing to target double-digit net store additions annually. Through the first eight months of this year, Bafang Yunji added a net 25 stores in Taiwan, while the Liang She Han brand added a net 12. Positive growth in both store count and average revenue per store across the two flagship brands is driving a virtuous cycle in supply chain sales.

Record Revenue with Fourth-Quarter Peak Season Momentum

The expansion is already reflected in revenue performance. Bafang Yunji’s August consolidated revenue reached NT$820 million (approximately $25.7 million), setting a new monthly record since its listing. Cumulative consolidated revenue for the first eight months totaled NT$6.223 billion (approximately $195.3 million), also a record high for the same period in any prior year.

Looking ahead to the fourth quarter, which is traditionally the group’s peak season, demand for hot foods such as potstickers, dumplings, and soup-based dishes is expected to rise significantly as the weather turns cooler. Combined with the progressive rollout of new U.S. markets, the group is optimistic about achieving record full-year revenue and profit. The Texas flagship is viewed as a pivotal turning point in the group’s deepening U.S. market presence, with the parallel expansion across California, Texas, and Arizona poised to inject fresh momentum into future revenue growth.
