Tripadvisor, the world’s leading review platform for the hospitality and tourism sector, has ranked Zagreb’s 100% plant-based and organic restaurant among the top 10 in the world in the Vegan & Vegetarian category.

ZAGREB, 1 October 2026 — Less than two years after opening, BioMania Bistro Zagreb has entered the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best category for 2026. Fewer than 1% of all restaurants registered on the platform – and there are more than 5 million of them – make it into this category.

Best of the Best is not awarded by a jury. The ranking is calculated based on the number and quality of reviews from guests who actually dined at the restaurant, backed by an editorial review process that places the winners among the top one percent on the platform.

Alongside BioMania, the world’s top 10 in the Vegan & Vegetarian category include restaurants from Peru, Greece, Vietnam, Canada, Scotland, the United States and the Czech Republic. The Zagreb restaurant is rated 4.9 out of 5 on Tripadvisor, based on more than a thousand reviews.

“We are truly overjoyed that, after our seasonal bistro in Bol, our year-round Zagreb restaurant has also received this prestigious award and been ranked among the top 1% of restaurants in the world. Being among the top 10 in the world in our category is truly a dream come true. I would like to sincerely thank our entire team and all our wonderful partners, especially the many small producers of organic and biodynamic fruit, vegetables and herbs.

Finally, of course, I would also like to thank our many guests, who show their appreciation by leaving reviews, coming back in great numbers and telling their friends, acquaintances and relatives about us. In this way they help our guest numbers grow steadily, which is also helped by the fact that the vast majority of our menu is gluten-free. In just under two years since opening, we have welcomed more than 40,000 guests, and we are especially pleased that over 70% of them are from Croatia.

“We were also surprised that more than 80% of our guests are ‘omnivores’, which further shows us that, both conceptually and gastronomically, we have succeeded in attracting a very broad range of guests,” said Dario Kožul, founder of the BioMania brand.
