Every Tuesday is Taco Tuesday, but it’s bigger than usual on the first Tuesday in October, designated as National Taco Day.
Look for the usual deals on Tuesday, Oct. 6 but also some extras. Taco Bell, the Irvine chain responsible for making Taco Tuesday, is going bigger still, declaring it “Global Taco Day.”
Here are a few promotions that restaurant chains have announced on their websites, in their stores, in social media or in news releases.
Chronic Tacos: There will be five days of deals for loyalty members through the chain’s app from Monday, Oct. 5 through Friday, Oct. 9. Most of them are buy-one-get-one offers. Tuesday’s offer is a free taco. chronictacos.com
Del Taco: The Lake Forest-based chain will have deals for Del Yeah! Rewards members throughout “Tacober,” beginning with two The Del Tacos for $3 Thursday, Oct. 1 through Saturday, Oct. 3. The National Taco Day deal on Tuesday is 60-cent Snack Tacos, with a limit of five. From Oct. 8 through Oct. 10 members can get free regular fries with any taco purchase. deltaco.com
Jack in the Box: App users can get two free tacos with a minimum $1 order on Oct. 6. jackinthebox.com
Primos Mexican Food & Cantina: This San Diego chain will be offering select street, hard shall and street tacos for $2 on Oct. 6. There will be a limit of four per order. primosmex.com
Rubio’s Coastal Grill: Rewards members can get a free taco with any purchase on Oct. 6. rubios.com
Taco Bell: The fast food giant is partnering with Duolingo on its Global Taco Day promotion, which features Duo, the language platform’s owl mascot. A new Duo Habanero Sauce in multilingual packets will be included in any Doritos Locos Tacos order. And rewards members can get one free month of Duolingo through the Taco Bell app Oct. 1-6, and they will have the opportunity to win one of 1,000 Duo plushies in Taco Bell’s Tuesday Drop at 2 p.m. Oct. 6. tacobell.com
