This famous NYC restaurant is opening in Las Vegas: Its Dirty Martini is getting a wild Vegas-style upgrade

I am a food writer, and am based in New York City. But Las Vegas has always been my favorite place in the country to travel for food, and one of the things I love most about them is that they just don’t do subtlety.

So when the news broke that one of New York City’s hottest restaurants (one that is famously a haunt of Taylor and Travis, even!), was opening a location in Las Vegas, it made so much sense. Where else would I want to enjoy caviar-stuffed olives and over-the top fare?

The Corner Store will open at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on November 9, and reservations are now open.

I’ve eaten at the original location a few times, and I’ve enjoyed their elevated American comfort food, but in very Las Vegas form, expect this to be be bigger and more expressive, with an expanded Butcher’s Counter with premium meats and hand-cut steaks, and a uniquely Vegas interpretation of Oli’s Dirty Martini. This one will be served with a trio of mascarpone caviar olives!

Other exciting menu items to look forward to include signature offerings familiar to fans of the restaurant, such as •Lobster & Caviar Rolls with tarragon-celery remoulade, Five Cheese Pizza Rolls served with whipped ranch, the famous The Corner Store Caesar featuring everything bagel croutons and cream cheese croquettes and The Wagyu French Dip, featuring a 72-hour slow-roasted Westholme Australian ribeye.

“Our goal was never to create a different Corner Store,” Jessica Somple, vice president of food and beverage at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, told me in an email interview. “It was to create a Corner Store that feels authentically at home in Las Vegas while remaining true to its SoHo roots.”

“The Corner Store was a huge hit in SoHo because it captured something people are increasingly searching for: a restaurant with genuine energy, a strong sense of identity, and food that feels both familiar and exciting,” said Somple, reflecting that this restaurant is the kind of place that strikes a rare balance between being highly polished and completely approachable. “People come for the meal, but they stay because the room has a pulse,” she said.

And, how perfectly poised is that for Las Vegas? A New York City restaurant entering the strip, and of course having to dress up for the occasion?

“We’ve had a terrific partnership with Catch Hospitality Group for years, dating back to the opening of CATCH at ARIA, and we’ve seen firsthand their ability to create concepts that become part of the cultural conversation. As we evaluated opportunities for The Cosmopolitan, The Corner Store stood out because it aligns so naturally with our DNA. We’ve always believed our guests are looking to discover what’s next, whether that’s an emerging concept, a unique dining experience, or a restaurant they can’t find everywhere else. The Corner Store brings that sense of discovery while delivering the kind of energy, personality, and hospitality that have always been central to The Cosmopolitan’s point of view,” said Somple.

Somple hopes that when a guest familiar with the New York City location enters the Las Vegas location, the first reaction is, “Yep, this is The Corner Store.”

“The energy, the martinis, the hospitality, and the character of the restaurant should all feel immediately familiar to anyone who knows the SoHo location,” she said, going on to say: “What I hope surprises them is how at home it feels in Las Vegas. We stayed incredibly true to the original, but there are moments throughout the experience that embrace the scale, sense of occasion, and playfulness that make dining in this city so unique.”

It’s a New York hot spot, now in the hottest spot in the country. “The best compliment we could receive is someone saying it feels exactly like The Corner Store, while also feeling like it could only exist at The Cosmopolitan,” she said.

Reservations are open now and can be booked online.
