PepsiCo has recalled 122,000 cases of Gatorade in 37 states, including South Carolina, because the sports drink contains undeclared food dyes, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said.

The recall affects 28-ounce bottles of Gatorade Lemon Lime, Gatorade Lemon Lime Zero, Gatorade Orange and Gatorade Orange Zero, according to the FDA notice.

They contain Yellow No. 5 and/or Yellow No. 6, which are synthetic, petroleum-based food dyes used to color processed foods and drinks.

Besides South Carolina, the products were cold in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wisconsin.

It is a Class II recall, which the FDA says means adverse health consequences are remote, temporary or medically reversible.

The recall number is H-0009-2027.

PepsiCo, which is based in Purchase, New York, has not publicly responded to the recall.
