Sandwich lovers, there is a new destination in New Haven, Between Bread, offering its “all day sauce,” which recently opened at 1008 Chapel St. New Haven, according to a news release.
There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony with The Shops at Yale, Oct. 14 at 1 p.m. Tastings will be offered after the ceremony, the news release said.
The casual eatery offers “high-quality, handcrafted favorites” for lunch and dinner, according to the release. In addition to sandwiches, the eatery will offer salads, craft cocktails, beer and a curated wine list, the release said.
Topping the menu is their pastrami sandwich, called “Psychology & the Good Life,” with pastrami, American cheese and cardamom-braised red cabbage slaw. As a nod to the old restaurant that made its home there for 40 years, the eatery offers The Copper Kitchen — an egg sandwich with American cheese and hardwood smoked bacon.
Between Bread also serves a number of chicken sandwiches, such as the East India Company with Cajun spiced chicken, French brie, romaine lettuce and tomatoes. Chicken tenders and Hummel hot dogs are also on the menu.
The New Haven Independent reported that local entrepreneurs Danielle Ginnetti and Linda Minichino opened Between Bread, which is known for its “all day sauce” and features a menu by chef Rudy Martinez.
Sandwich shop hours are Tuesday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed Monday. Bar hours are Thursday-Saturday 4 to 10 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
