Community Fridge & Pantry Opens in Pulaski

A Community Fridge & Pantry opened Sept. 13 in Pulaski, offering free food around the clock to anyone who needs it.

The fridge is at 226 N. Second St., on the back side of The Table building. Community members can take what they need and leave what they can.

P3 Tennessee, a local grassroots organization, and Second Street Coffee House partnered to bring the project to life with support from First United Methodist Church of Pulaski.

With residents gathered at the site, FUMC Pulaski Pastor Zach Moffatt led the group in prayer before P3 Tennessee founder Cassie Gant and Second Street Coffee House owner Mace Crye cut the ribbon together. Community members then stocked the fridge and pantry shelves, with excess food taken to fill surrounding Blessing Boxes.

The Community Fridge & Pantry is available 24/7, and guidelines for donating are painted on the side of the shelter.

Construction began Aug. 19 and was completed entirely by volunteers with materials that were donated and salvaged. Local businesses Books & More, Nirvana Social and The Home Depot supported the project by donating materials and workspace.
