LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KFOX14/CBS4) — A 40-year-old woman has been sentenced to nine years in prison after pleading guilty in connection with a series of burglaries and stolen property cases in Doña Ana County.
Third Judicial District Attorney Fernando Macias announced Thursday that Victoria Cabrales entered a global plea agreement, pleading guilty to two counts of burglary, two counts of conspiracy to commit burglary and one count of receiving stolen property.
Cabrales received three years in prison in each of three cases, with the sentences ordered to run consecutively.
According to the District Attorney’s Office, Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a trespassing report at a storage facility on Feb. 5.
Deputies found Cabrales and an accomplice at a storage unit they claimed belonged to them.

Investigators said they spotted a blowtorch and two locks that appeared to have been cut. Cabrales and the other person could not provide a working key to the unit, and the unit’s owner later confirmed they did not have permission to enter, authorities said.
Deputies found several other storage units with locks that had been cut with a torch, according to prosecutors.
During questioning, Cabrales admitted she and her accomplice had broken into additional units at another storage facility days earlier, authorities said. Deputies later recovered stolen firearms, jewelry, collectibles, money, power tools and electronics.
Cabrales was also wanted in a separate case involving about $16,000 in stolen coins.
Investigators said they learned in January that she had the coins and had sold several to local pawn shops, but they were initially unable to locate her.
