LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Enough food for 350 households was brought and distributed in short fashion on Tuesday morning. Folks with Second Harvest Food Bank and local volunteers gathered at the La Follette Church of God for the distribution, a second Tuesday of the month routine.

Crews loaded the big green bean, what they call their truck, beginning at 7am Tuesday and arrived in La Follette just before 10am.

Arrivers were treated with dry food, including soup, canned vegetables, rice, macaroni-n-cheese, apples, onions, potatoes, carrots and fish.

Second Harvest employees, Garry Callisto, Mobile Pantry Manager Brad Hutchins and Hunter Brooks served Campbell County.

Any food left over is kept at the Church of God food pantry. All food stays in Campbell County.

Though it may look chaotic at times, the food drive is a smooth, well oiled distribution.

Today there were 25 local volunteers to help distribute the food along with three Second Harvest employees, Garry Callisto, Mobile Pantry Manager Brad Hutchins and Hunter Brooks.

The La Follette Church of God campus is designed ideally for such an event as Tuesday’s.

Hutchins and his crew started tloading the green bean, what they call the truck, at about 7am Tuesday with enough food to feed 350 households. Hutchins and his crew deliver to 18 East Tennessee counties.

They maintain the same monthly schedule unless something happens to change it. For Campbell County, the schedule is the second Tuesday of the month. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-10/14/2026-6AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF WLAF’S CHARLIE HUTSON)
