BOSTON (WBSM) — A Raynham man has been sentenced to more than 12 years in federal prison for the 2024 armed robbery of a cash courier in Swansea.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Christopher White, 39, was sentenced to 154 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
White had pleaded guilty in May 2026 to one count of robbery interfering with interstate commerce (commonly referred to as Hobbs Act robbery), one count of conspiracy to commit Hobbs Act robbery, one count of brandishing a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence, one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm, and one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

The charges date back to February 19, 2024, when White and another individual, Steven Madison, were captured on video stealing a rental van from the U-Haul Moving & Storage location in Abington.
$436,000 Cannabis Cash Robbery in Swansea
Later that day, an armed courier who worked for a company that provided secure cash transportation for cannabis companies arrived at a Swansea bank with about $436,200 in cash to be deposited.
The U-Haul van pulled up alongside him and White exited the van wearing a mask and a camouflage vest. He pointed a firearm at the courier before zip-tying his hands behind his back.
Pepper Spray and Shots Fired During Getaway
Madison then got out of the van and loaded the cash into it. They then forced the courier into the back seat of his own vehicle and sprayed him with pepper spray.
The courier was able to get one of his hands free while inside his vehicle. He drew his firearm and fired four rounds toward the U-Haul van as it fled the scene. He then called 911.
White and Madison then drove to a nearby location in Swansea to meet up with a third man, Quentin McDonald. They then transferred the stolen cash to McDonald’s SUV and fled the scene.
Police searched White’s Raynham residence and found zip-ties, a black mask similar to the one worn in the robbery, a firearm, ammunition, and cocaine. The U.S. Attorney’s Office said he also has prior state convictions for larceny and receiving stolen property. He was arrested and charged in the armed robbery case in May 2024.
