Philadelphia-based hoagie shop Ricci’s Hoagies is opening a franchise location next week in downtown Lancaster.
The new shop at 117 N. Water St., which debuts Oct. 21, will occupy a retail space in Gallery 118, a recently opened 72-unit apartment building. The 1,400-square-foot Ricci’s storefront sits behind the facade of a historic garage preserved during the building’s construction. It seats 16 inside.

Ricci’s Hoagies
Ricci’s specializes in traditional Italian sandwiches. Its menu features hand-sliced meats and cheeses on rolls from Liscio’s Italian Bakery in New Jersey. Offerings range from traditional Italian and roast beef to Italian tuna and chicken cutlet hoagies.
The franchisees for the Lancaster shop are city residents Brendalis Camacho and her husband, Marcus Fontanez.
Ricci’s is owned by Michael Pagliarella, who took over from his father, Rich “Big Rich” Pagliarella, who bought the shop in 2001. The original location is in South Philadelphia, but there are now two other locations in the city, including a franchise. There’s also a franchise location in Charlotte, North Carolina.
