Dutchess County Legislature Votes to Cover Remaining Flock Cameras
The Dutchess County Legislature has ordered that all Flock Safety cameras be covered over until they can be removed.

The measure passed unanimously on Tuesday, just weeks after officials decided to shut down the network of cameras operated by Flock in the county following pushback from residents over concerns about whether the surveillance cameras constituted a violation of privacy.
At the time, Dutchess County District Attorney Anthony Parisi said the cameras would be deactivated immediately, but that it could take up to 30 days to physically remove them from around the county.
County Legislator Chris Drago (D-Stanford) said any cameras that remain in place after Oct. 25 would be covered in order to give residents peace of mind. “Covering the Flock cameras is a small act, but an important step toward restoring public trust,” he said.

The bagel bastion will be one of eight schmear shops to participate in the 2026 BagelUp Growth Lab on Nov. 14 in New York City, where they will participate in business education classes, access-to-capital discussions, and networking opportunities with experienced bagel slingers.
Gross Bagels has been in the process of transforming the old Jager Haus location at the corner of Route 9G and Broadway for months. The business is the brainchild of Andy and Jake Gross, who both attended Bard College and returned to the area after losing their Altadena home in Los Angeles to wildfires last year.
They will be joined at the incubator by Maxine’s Bagel of Hudson, N.Y. The training lab will take place ahead of the 2026 BagelFest at Citi Field.

Christine Sum Kim, MFA ‘13, and Layli Long Soldier, MFA ‘14, were named 2026 MacArthur Fellows, two of a group of 20 to receive the prestigious award.
Kim is an artist whose work explores the political, cultural, and multisensory dimensions of sound, spoken language, and communication, the college said. Long Soldier is a poet whose writing explores how language can be used as a tool of oppression or a means to reshape the world around us.
Both will receive $800,000 stipends to use as they see fit. A MacArthur Fellowship is granted based on three criteria: exceptional creativity, promise for important future advances based on a track record of significant accomplishments, and potential for the fellowship to facilitate subsequent creative work.
