MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – WMTV’s annual “Share Your Holidays” campaign is quickly approaching, and now is the time to sign up to help feed families across southern Wisconsin.

Second Harvest Food Bank is looking for businesses, schools and organizations to host food drives this holiday season.

If you want a donation barrel delivered to your location, you have until Friday, Oct. 23 to sign up.

The barrels will be delivered Nov. 9 when the campaign officially kicks off.

More than 200 food drives were held as a part of last year’s campaign.

While hunger may not be making as many headlines as it did last year, Second Harvest says more people in our community are still struggling to put food on the table.

“We really hope that this year we can continue to make good results and bring in lots of food for our neighbors, especially at a time where it’s not getting maybe the highlight that it did in previously last year to have such a spotlight on the issue,” David Heinrich, community giving coordinator at Second Harvest Food Bank, said. “We’re hoping that folks will continue to participate in the campaign, give back and support their neighbors who are facing food insecurity at higher rates than previously.”

If you miss that deadline, you can still participate.

You’ll just need to pick up the barrel or collection box from Second Harvest.
