You may recognize Gordon Ramsay’s Lucky Cat brand as one of the sky-high concepts he brought to life at London’s 22 Bishopsgate tower on the Netflix docuseries Being Gordon Ramsay. The celebrity chef opened a Miami outpost focused on pan-Asian fine dining from 2024 to 2025, and returns to the location in November with a new focus.
Lucky Cat Steak is tailored to Miami diners, emphasizing heat, energy, and vibrancy, and pairing elevated steak offerings with influences from Japan, Korea, and Latin America, including sushi, Hokkaido French toast, kimbap, bibimbap, naengmyeon, and bulgogi tacos.
“Cooking the finest cuts of meat over a traditional robata is unique to Lucky Cat Steak and really creates the most exceptional flavors,” Ramsay tells Food & Wine. “The special binchotan, Japanese white oak charcoal, is completely smokeless, so there are no chemical fumes or heavy wood smoke to interfere with the pure umami essence as the rich fats from these premium cuts drip on to the glowing wood below.”

Standout steaks include USDA Prime, Texas Akaushi, Japanese A5 Miyazaki, and Australian Blackmore Wagyu, all prepared on a robata grill.Ramsay developed the menu with Michael Howells, executive head chef for Lucky Cat, touting bold and tropical flavors. Gordon’s Fried Chicken (GFC) will be prepared with prawns instead of poultry, croquettes are filled with kimchi, and cocktails incorporate kumquat and mango.
“Lucky Cat Steak has been created exclusively for our Miami community, with a real neighborhood feel,” Ramsay says. “This is not just another opening; we want locals to choose us as their go-to restaurant, to gather and have fun, break bread with friends and family, and enjoy the incredible food, stunning cocktails, and good time vibes in a restaurant that has community at its heart.”

The Hell’s Kitchen star has expanded his empire with more than 20 restaurants in the United States beyond his more than 30 in the UK. The Miami opening is a reinvention of Ramsay’s fourth Lucky Cat concept and first in the United States. The restaurant remains in Miami Beach’s South of Fifth (SoFi) neighborhood where Lucky Cat was previously. It’s a location that elicits a bold superlative from the star chef.
“I love Miami’s South Beach,” Ramsay emphasizes. “The most intentionally and unapologetically glamorous paradise, where everything feels like a movie set. It’s an amazing place to come with my family — we love the Florida sun, stunning beach, iconic architecture mixed in with legendary nightlife, away from the tourist hot spots. It really has the coolest food scene anywhere in the U.S. I feel truly lucky to be able to have two restaurants in this amazing city!”
Lucky Cat Steak opens for dinner Wednesday to Saturday on Nov. 25 at 119 Washington Ave. Reservations will be available on OpenTable and Resy.
