Dallas Observer supper club returns with exclusive Ateliê dinner

We fell in love with Ateliê the first time we visited. Located along historic Jefferson Avenue, the mix of art (it’s a satellite museum) and culinary ingenuity makes for a truly unique experience in Dallas.

The restaurant is the work of chef Wyl Lima who was born in Angola and moved to Texas when he was just 9. The menu has African, Caribbean, and European influences. A half chicken and cacio e peppe are two of the most popular dishes. Roasted cabbage shouldn’t be allowed to be so good.

Lima cut his chops at Le Margo in Fort Worth and Sister in Dallas, which, under his direction, landed on The New York Times list of best restaurants in America in 2022. Next, he opened The Charlotte in Knox-Henderson, a charming restaurant with a menu focused on Southern fare.

Ateliê, however, is an extension of the pop-up dinners Lima hosted in Oak Cliff. The setting is inside Daisha Board Gallery. Why not? Have a meal and get comfortable with the art. Maybe take some home.

Where: Ateliê, 367 W. Jefferson Blvd.
Who: Dallas Observer members and nonmembers
Dinner: A five-course meal with two drinks, tip and gratuity included. The exact menu will be released soon.

For this event, we’re opening up the invitation to nonmembers so anyone can see what these supper clubs are about. Come out to join a diverse and fun group of people who take an interest in local food, culture and news.

If interested, you can become a member just by making a one-time contribution, or, even better, a recurring member.

Your support is about a lot more than supper clubs, though. The journalism landscape continues to present challenges, and our independent journalism is as vital as ever.
