Easy Homemade CHILI DOGS – DAIRY QUEEN'S COPYCAT | Recipes.net

Add some chili on top of your regular hotdogs in a bun and try out these chili dogs just like Dairy Queen’s! Top these with some onions and pickle relish to complement the rich and spicy flavors of the chili!

Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
2½ cups ketchup
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp prepared yellow mustard
1 tsp chili powder
5½ oz yellow onions, chopped
2 garlic cloves, chopped
4 all-beef hot dogs, roughly ½ lb total
4 hot dog rolls
Water for simmering
Salt and ground black pepper, to taste

To serve:
Yellow onions, chopped
Pickle relish

⬇️ How to make Copycat Dairy Queen’s Chili Dogs ⬇️
0:10 Heat up oil in a saute pan on medium heat. Add chopped onions and garlic and saute until translucent.
0:28 Stir in the ground beef, cooking for about 10 more minutes or until evenly caramelized.
0:36 Stir in the ketchup, chili powder, and mustard. Simmer for 15 minutes or until the mixture is thickened.
0:51 While waiting, bring water in a pot to a simmer. Add your hot dogs and simmer for 5 to 8 minutes or until fully heated through. Drain and set aside.
1:06 Season your chili with salt and pepper and adjust accordingly.
1:18 Place hot dogs in the buns, then spoon chili on top.
1:28 Sprinkle with roughly 2 tablespoons of onions and pickle relish each per sandwich. Serve!
