The garlic sauce used in the dish elevates the taste of the prawns and gives an appealing appearance to the dish. Ingredients
For Marinating Prawns
500g of prawns
2 Tbsp cornflour
1 Tbsp ground pepper
1 Tbsp soy sauce
Salt to taste (optional)
Process:
Add the above ingredients and mix until prawns are well coated with the marinade. Keep it aside for 10-15 min to marinate.
Ingredients for Sauce Mix
4 spring onion – cut to an angle
1 Tbsp of cornflour
2 Tbsp of soy sauce
1 Tbsp of oyster sauce
1 cup of water
4 cloves of garlic – chopped
Process:
Add cornflour into a measuring cup or a bowl
Add soy sauce and give a good mix
Add oyster sauce
Add water and mix well
Add chopped garlic
Add chopped spring onion and mix well
Rest of the Ingredients –
3 Tbsp oil
4 cloves of garlic -chopped
2 Tbsp of chilli flakes
1 broccoli head – cut into florets
½ a cup of water
A bunch of asparagus
1 whole bell pepper – cut
½ Tsp of sugar (optional)
A dash of sesame oil
Process: Main Dish
Heat up a pan over medium heat, once the pan is hot, add oil
Once the oil is hot, add marinated prawns, spread them over the pan and fry for about 90 seconds
Flip and fry for 30 seconds
Remove the prawns and keep them aside
Using the same pan over medium heat, add chopped garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds
Add chilli flakes and sauté for about 30-40 seconds
Add broccoli florets and mix well until spice mix evenly coats with broccoli
Add water along the rim of the pan, turn the heat to high heat, close the lid and let the broccoli steam for about 90 seconds
Open the lid, turn the heat down to medium and give it a good mix or toss
Add asparagus and stir fry for about 45 seconds
Add cut bell pepper and stir fry for about 30 seconds
Add already fried prawns and continue stir frying for about 20-30 seconds
Add previously prepared garlic sauce, give a good mix and let it simmer over medium to high heat to your liking
Sprinkle a dash of sesame oil and give a quick mix
The dish is ready to be served. Ideal with white rice and serve it while the dish is hot.
